The sixth Godot XR Community Game Jam ran from 21 September 2026 until 5 October 2026. We had 85 participants join, who submitted 28 games. Down from 98 participants but up from 22 games last jam. The quality of the entries however has risen sharply.
The theme of this game jam was “Adrift”.
The whole top 10 is worth checking out and even beyond are some real gems, but as always we’re counting down the top 5:
No 5. Balloon Dino Death Dome by Kimau
This entry has you take control of a balloon where you physically need to pull on levers to control the balloon. Well, for as far as you have control because for the most part, different air currents take over. Those air currents are brilliantly visualised and animated with tiny particles. A cannon mounted on the balloon has you shooting targets to score points.
No 4. Tether Charge Express VR by UltraGravityLabs
This entry has you trying to stay in front of a storm. Through a unique control mechanism, you control a drone on the end of a tether that gathers electricity from the storm to power your craft. It becomes a balancing act between collecting energy, evading the storm, and recharging your craft.
No 3. Build a Lighthouse VR by Bauxite
This entry is a very impressive physics-based tower stacking game. You find yourself on a little island in the middle of an ocean, with all sorts of flotsam drifting ashore. As you do, you pick up the flotsam, and try and build the highest tower. The physics interaction in this game is sublime; it is a real challenge building a tower where every new piece can upset the balance. This is hours of fun!
No 2. Balloons Adrift VR by simenhs
This deceptively simple entry has you shooting balloons out of the air. Gunplay in VR is always satisfying but what sets this apart is that at the start of the game, you only get a few seconds to shoot. With each balloon successfully popped, you get a few dollars to spend. After each round, you can buy upgrades, be it additional time, more dollars per balloon popped, more capacity in your weapon, etc. The time limit gives a sense of urgency, while the upgrade path adds an element of strategy. This is an endlessly replayable game.
No 1. Wavemaker by Unit327
Who as a kid hasn’t played endlessly in the local pool or in your bath making waves and seeing what happens? Wavemaker is an immensly satisfying entry where find yourself in a pool making waves in order to push little boats through a goal. Whether you splash with your hands, throw a plushy around, or in later levels, zoom around with a remote controlled speedboat, you make waves to manipulate the game and play through increasingly more difficult levels. This entry puts a smile on your face from the moment it starts.
Many thanks to everyone who competed and voted. It has been really great trying out all these entries. Congratulations to Unit327 for taking the win — you were up against some steep competition!
Our next game jam is pencilled in for early April 2027. We will announce an exact date closer to the jam.
