When I envoke “godot3” (installed via Ubuntu APT) I get:
Illegal machine code (core dump written)

What to do now? Thanks for any help in advance.

“Illegal machine code” sounds like your processor is not compatible with the executable you downloaded. To ensure compatibility, you can download the source from the Git, and compile it on your machine.
