Block Locking with Physics

How would I make a placement system for blocks in Godot? I don’t mean with tilemaps, I’m more thinking Space Engineers but 2D, so the blocks can move and have physical interactions. I’ve tried several different versions of this, but none work. Could someone please help me? There are no guides anywhere on how to do this so an answer would be greatly appreciated.
