3d mesh generations with heightmaps

Hi, So im new to GODOT been trying out a few small things getting the hang of it. I want to create procedurally generated planets so I took a look here

Following the tutorial is pretty straight forward, I then attempted to try and use a CUBE well lets say its nothing like I expect. Could anyone guide me on how to attempt this in a SHADERSCRIPT or if i could do it in GDSCRIPT that would be even better
