What's best way to handle scalable high resolution for a 2D game?

Hi, I find information about changing resolution of 2D games in Godot very lacking.

Let say I’ve big assets made in vector software like Adobe Illustrator, and I want to downsize the asset at one point… (for performance reasons)

What’s elegant way to approach this?
