Hi,

I was wondering if anyone can tell me whether Godot 4’s new Tilemap system will be able to Automatically cut-out an Atlas Tilemap, by the user specifying a grid size such as 16 x 16 pixels, then also creating default colision shapes for each tile. All this without having to create tiles manually/individually.

The reason I ask is that I’ve seen some scripts that do something similar, but It would be nice to be able to without resorting to such measures.

A large tile atlas can have many tiles and additionally, for many scenarios most of the tiles will be square. Plus the ability to allow the user to edit the collision shapes if they are slopes or similar afterwards.

I’m sure I’m not the only Godot user that wants this features and it seams very rudementary as this is typically what other game engines do.

I’ve not seen anything mentioned online about this feature so far.

Thanks.
