ItemList Detect Hovering

I want a StyleBox to appear when the cursor is hovering over an item. Pretty much every other control node I've used has a hover theme property that does exactly that, but apparently the ItemList doesn't. Am I missing something? Are there any workarounds?

I feel like there should be a way to style it. Maybe it's not in ItemList but under a different class?
