| Description |
GDBG (Godot Debug Bridge) connects running Godot projects to command-line tools and automation. It provides a runtime bridge, an extensible console framework, input routing, screenshots, and integration/playtest support. The companion gdbg CLI is a separate required installation for the agent, shell, and CI workflow. This addon download does not include the CLI. Install the matching CLI from: https://github.com/Dluck-Games/godot-debug-bridge/releases/tag/v0.1.2 Features: - Launch and stop projects from the command line. - Send project-defined console commands and input events. - Capture screenshots from a rendered viewport. - Run integration tests and automated playtests through project-provided host adapters. - Use headless execution for console commands and supported test workflows. Requirements: - Godot 4.3 or newer within the Godot 4.x series. - Matching versions of the CLI and addon (0.1.2). - Screenshots and recordings require a rendered viewport. - Project-specific console commands and test lifecycle behavior require host adapters; a minimal example is included in the source repository. Installation: 1. Extract addons/gdbg into your project root. 2. Open the project in Godot and wait for import to finish. 3. Enable Godot Debug Bridge under Project > Project Settings > Plugins. 4. Confirm ScreenshotManager, AIDebugBridge, and DebugBridgeTestRuntime appear as autoloads. 5. Install the matching CLI separately and follow the README to launch and control your project. The addon can be enabled without the CLI, but it does not provide a standalone editor control UI. GitHub Releases and the CLI installer are the primary distribution channel; this listing provides the Godot addon installation route. Documentation and host adapter example: https://github.com/Dluck-Games/godot-debug-bridge/tree/v0.1.2/examples/minimal GDBG is an early-stage toolkit. Its protocol and extension APIs may evolve. Licensed under MIT. AI usage: AI tools assisted with release preparation, documentation, and code changes. The Terminal Bug icon was generated with AI and selected by the maintainer. |
