Why is Texture Mem (in Monitors) so high?

I have about 5 MB worth of sprites on the screen.

There are some floor tiles (a few kb) and a few sprites (<100k) and some UI stuff.

But in the Monitors section, it says my Texture Mem is 237 MB. I have no idea why this would be happening at all.

Someone else asked a similar question, but he had no replies. So I thought I would ask again.

Any shader generated textures?

Nope, just a few pixelated sprites.
