I see a lot of animation tutorials use a picture that contains all frames.
My question is how they generate that picture?

That collective image is called a sprite sheet and there are many 3rd party tools (free and commercial) that can generate one from a set of input images.

Doing an internet search for sprite sheet generator should find lots of tools for you.
