2D Light Mask render layers not working?

I have multiple lights but can only set lights to render layer 1 others are not working, don’t respond to light when activated/deactivated is this an issue or am I doing something wrong.

Would you share a minimal project reproducing your setup? I use light layers and work fine on my end.

it’s solved now. the problem was I tought you had to match the sprite node’s light mask layer with the Light2D light mask layer, when in fact is the Lights2D item cull mask layer in the range property that has to match.
