  1. if you want the player sprit e to not receive the light, you need to change the light mask of the sprite node. to do this you need to go to your sprites inspector, open the visibility tab, and change the light mask to any of the other boxes and deselect the first box(or you can just deselect all the boxes).

  2. to get shadows casted from your tilemap, you need to edit the tilemap and add an occlusion mask. this’ll make the light2d node know where to collide with the tilemap and cast a shadow.
