3D Sprite affected by DoF far blur even though out of distance

HI All. I have a problem with 3d sprite (which is in billboard mode). I have far DoF on in my world environment. Every time the sprite approaches the edge of the map it starts being affected by the far blur even though it’s not in its range. And it’s only the part of the sprite that sticks out beyond the ground mesh that gets affected. How do I fix this?
