Parallax layer not showing sprite until camera moves

I’m trying to create a cutscene with the camera scrolling right after it fades in. I set up a parallax background with only one layer for testing. When the camera fades in, the background sprite doesn’t get mirrored. After the camera starts panning and reaches a certain point, the mirrored sprite just randomly displays. I’m not sure if this is a camera setting that only displays a sprite when the camera is within a certain view of it. I also have the camera zoomed in by half, not sure if that affects anything.
