For one, it could be due to how the rules are set for the mask. For another, I don’t know what you’re trying to do, considering you didn’t really describe the problem.

I’m just trying to use tilemaps, and the engine is messing up the sprites, I’m probably going to be using this one for a background of a 2d platformer.

Are you using “Auto Tile”?
That might be the problem.
If you’re using the Auto-tile system your tiles are blending together and it might have created that incident.

so the feature is broken and I’m not supposed to use it?
