I've been working as a Product Designer for the last 6 years, and I currently work as a UX Lead at a tech company. I coded my first game in high school and ever since then have been interested in Game Engines and designing for developers.

Is it possible to work on usability and aesthetic changes to the Godot platform and become part of the community of developers in that way?

Just start making PRs! :)

I recommend jumping on Github and looking at the code. Check out existing issues and start doing something. The community is very friendly and new contributors are always welcome. You can read the Contributing section in the docs for details on the workflow and code guidelines.
