I humbly apologize as I have found quite a few things on this online but only about checking while typing the code and I haven’t found much else unfortunately.

Long story short, I’m introducing a … “Scrabble” type element into a game and I’m wondering if there is an inherent way within GoDot to check the spelling of the word to make sure it’s legit or not (i.e. an actual – in this case – English (US) Word)

Or is the only other way to do this is to make a custom checklist and have it check that? Thanks in advance.

I’ve only just begun using Godot recently, but I have not seen anything like this. I would imagine to implement spell checking you would have to include a word list as you’ve suggested.

With that being said, part of the fun in playing the game of Scrabble, is that you can try to get away with playing misspelled words. As long as no one challenges your word, you get to keep the points.

It’s not that much like Scrabble in all honesty.

It’s single player (for the moment) and basically it’s more like Book Worm only with a limited selection of letters…

So I need to verify if a word exists or not. I’ll see what I can do though.
