I love using Godot, it’s the engine that has most clicked with me. I could go on and on about it. And it’s free which is beyond amazing. But in thinking ahead in my career (if it ever pans out), I want to eventually get in to contract gigs and freelancing with the skills I learn. I want to use Godot for personal projects, but I worry that those skills won’t be usable in the freelance realm, assuming people will need devs with more experience with Unity or other engines. Any thoughts?

Godot doesn’t seem to be a good option for Freelancing currently.

The solution is to use what you like for your pleasure and principle.

And at the same time become good at a popular tool like Unity.

For your own projects you’d be using Godot and for others or work, you’d be using Unity.

That seems to be the only solution.

I was looking on Fiverr and found very few gigs with no reviews.

One can also try praying that Godot becomes the most popular engine, but Science has shown us that it doesn’t work.
