I created a 2D animated scene in Godot 2.14 and just today I tried to open it in Godot 3.0 and was shocked that there isn't an obvious way to open my project in Godot 3.

Anyone know how I can do this?

Try searching before you post a question. This was answered just a few hours before you posted this: https://godotengine.org/qa/22875/how-to-port-2-1-project-to-3-0

Godot 3.0 is not backward compatible with 2.1.4. There is an exporter in 2.1.4, but it is not complete. A 2.1.5 update is on the way that will hopefully address some of the issues, but depending on the size of your project, there are always going to be some things you have to change.

While I apreciate your response, don't assume I haven't looked. I actually looked at the moment of the release and finally submitted my question at the time I did. I find it very bad form that the project doesnt import the old projects as part of a 3.0 release. Quite a facepalm.

I did notice that there was some activity on a "converter" on Github, but the issue wasn't specific. I just wanted to ask here for further confirmation.

-1 for being a smartass.

No smartass intended. Since your question was the same as at least one other on the front page, I think it's a good suggestion to let you know you can search for similar questions. You may know that, but many evidently do not.

There is a converter, it just lives in the 2.1 branch and exports your project for 3.0. If you feel the opposite direction would be better, you can open an issue on Github with the suggestion and let the community discuss.

At the time I searched I didn't have time to search for variants of my question in order to find the correct answer. To save energy it would have been fine to just reply with, "This question was already answered here: [url]".

Anyway, I just ask that you be more sensitive to people who are asking a simple question. We have all been there - not knowing something. I could have possibly put more effort to find the answer, but I definitely don't need to do this. Just like you didn't need to help me.

Appreciated nonetheless.
