I think what the user is asking is for a derivative of the Godot Engine, and not just forks that people have made. In other words, they could have made a variation on the engine which has different features or capabilities.

What’s the difference between derivatives and forks?

As the user did not take the time to specify the question in more detail I tried my best to answer the question as it was asked. I am aware of the fact that the user might be interested in something else but it is no problem to mark another answer as the right one.

Not sure where you got the information that the user wanted to know that what you are describing.

Do you know what’s the difference between derivatives and forks?

@Joe0239

The term fork is well defined in context of software development. The term derivative is not (as I am aware of) but it is used to describe the difference between a fork which is just copied for constructing a pull request for the parent project (a so called development branch) and a fork, which is copied for working on a derived package of the project (which often leads to a split in the developer community).

Note that this term confusion comes from the broader use of the word fork in context of version control systems especially by GitHub as a git service (see this citation for further reference).
