Godot and consoles, one more thing i need to know :)

Once I read the article “Godot and consoles, all you need to know”, from which I understood - Godot does not have support for consoles without the help of a third party. At the heart of the problem is that Godot is Open Source.

Monogame is also an Open Source project, and at the same time it has PS4 support.

I can assume that support for the console is not something personal for each project, but instead it is once implemented functionality that will work in the future for each project, right?
And if so, why hasn’t Godot acquired such support until now?

Please explain who understands this better than me, what I do not understand?
This question has been keeping me awake for 3 days now

companies don’t want to give their SDK’s to an open source project because they don’t want to leak their own code

also with Monogame I think you have to be registered PS4 developer to be able to port to PS4. I’m not sure how to “register” though, or what being a registered developer even means so ¯_(ツ)_/¯

As far as I could understand, being a registered developer is mandatory in any case (even if a third company helps with the port)
