how to make xray effect to show area around player through top tilemap

i want to make an xray effect on a particular tilemap that hides the area behind

like this for the example:
unhid some areas that got closed by tilemap if player walks in

for the record, I’ve tried this method and it did work with some errors, but something happened and made particular light mask layer that I assign for my tilemap to got a permanent effect even when I remove nodes. tried it again on other light mask and kind of work as intended but the sprite is not around player which means it wont remove the area of top tilemap around player.

is there other method to do so? (or atleast similar method but different in some way)
