Basically what the title says!

I’m REALLY new to all this so if I’m missing something please let me know - there is not edit/write node script button in my version of Godot. I downloaded the mac version TODAY [02 of March 2017]

In a tutorial I’m following it shows it next to the scene buttons but my set up doesn’t seem to look anything like the one in this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Elw3KEz7TwQ

HELP

Thank you

Can you be more specific? the video is 30 minutes long and is hard to guess what do you mean (the icon on the tree after a new script is added to a node, the tab, the inspector…).

Add a picture of your godot window and the part of the video that is different, if possible.

The Godot version used in the video is quite old, the interface has changed a bit by now.
In 2.1.2, creating a script for a node is done by right-clicking the node, and choose “Add script”.

Once a node has a script on it, it can also be edited again by clicking the script icon that will appear on the node, or by looking at the bottom of the inspector where the script property is (as for any other resource in the engine).

If you have any doubt, you can check the official docs too http://docs.godotengine.org/en/stable/tutorials/step_by_step/scripting.html#adding-a-script

Unfortunately all mine wants to do is change the name of the node and it doesn’t seem to want to show me the menu.

Never mind! I have a mouse and now it seems to work!

Thank you!!!
