Achieving a specific type of physics movement?

I’m trying to get movement similar to “Getting Over It with Bennett Foddy” in that game you rotate a hammer around your character to move.

Now I’ve set up a basic project trying to achieve this kind of movement but it doesn’t behave how I want it to, it’s like there’s no friction as I just keep spinning in the same spot.

Problem

Here’s the project

Did you ever get this fixed? I’m working on implementing a similar thing but am not at this stage yet and would appreciate hearing or seeing how you implemented the demo in your gif.

Hey, yeah I did get somewhat farther along by coding some of it in the “_integrate_forces” function, I remember having some issues with the gravity being strange though.

This was a long while ago though and I can’t find the project files, not sure if I accidentally deleted them or something… If I happen to find them I’ll upload them. For now though you can get the project in the gif, it’s linked in the original post below the gif.

Thanks a lot for the reply! Somehow I missed the link in the post before. I’ll take a look at your project.
