Can I set up version control only once?

Every time I restart Godot, I have to set up the version control again, it is not saved.

I mean I click Project > Version Control > Set Up > Initialise
Every single time I launch Godot.

Is there a way to have it automatically set up when I launch Godot, or to simply leave it set?

Do you already have the version control system setup? Does the project have a git repository established? Have you also looked at the documentation on setting up version control in the editor?

Yes, yes and yes, otherwise I could not have been able to initialise to begin with.

I have submitted an issue to the git add-on issue tracker. Hopefully this will be resolved soon.

The issue I submitted was moved over to the main Godot issue tracker. Please follow that issue for possible improvements on the feature.
