I'm trying to implement a contextual leaderboard system based on friends in my game, but I can't find any resources on it online.

Subway Surfers and many others use Facebook Friends to store and display leaderboards contextually between friends. Is there a straight forward way of implementing this? Is it even possible? Would I need to pay or set up my own server for this? Help!!!

Here is a tut on making a leaderboard: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g4p1x6-Iyx4

This guy made a plugin that sets up the server for you. Idk how you would get facebook friends, but I am sure it is possible. I would imagine facebook would give you an API and then you could query the player for their name and the names of their friends and much more.
